Senior Counsel


Overview

Shara Pipitone is Senior Counsel in DarrowEverett’s Commercial Real Estate Practice Group and represents developers, investors and lenders in the acquisition, disposition, development and financing of commercial real estate properties throughout the United States. She has extensive experience working in partnership with equity and development partners for various dirt and rehabilitation projects, including veterinary clinics, medical office spaces, senior and independent living facilities, student housing and commercial shopping centers. Shara has closed multiple layers of debt financing by coordinating across public and private sources and equity investments.

Representative Matters

  • Representation of purchaser in an eight-figure acquisition and related Freddie Mac financing of a multifamily property located in suburban Nashville, Tennessee.

  • Representation of purchaser in a nine-figure acquisition and related mortgage and mezzanine financing of a commercial shopping center in suburban Dallas, Texas, which included drafting, reviewing and counseling the client through negotiation of acquisition and financing documents, as well as title, survey and zoning review.

  • Representation of lender in an eight-figure mortgage loan secured by a multifamily property located in suburban Nashville, Tennessee, which included drafting and negotiating loan documents and reviewing all of borrower’s due diligence.

  • Representation of purchaser in a nine-figure acquisition and related mortgage and mezzanine financing of commercial shopping centers in Austin, Texas.

  • Served as in-house counsel for real estate private-equity fund advising in all aspects of investment deals in the alternative commercial real estate sector, including, without limitation student housing, senior housing, medical office, and self-storage across three types of funds: opportunistic equity, real estate debt and Freddie Mac B pieces and open-core equity.

Prior Experience

Before joining DarrowEverett, Shara was Counsel with an AM 200 law firm out of its South Florida office. She previously worked as in-house counsel for a real estate private equity fund in Boca Raton, Florida. She began her career in big law in Miami and has always had a focus on sophisticated commercial real estate transactions.
