Overview

Tyler N. Miller is an Associate in the Business Litigation and Dispute Resolution Practice Group and a Practice Leader in the firm’s Family Law Practice Group. He regularly represents clients in civil, family, and criminal matters, additionally advising on municipal law and land use matters. He vigorously represents our clients’ interests in and out of court, utilizing effective communication and legal skills. Tyler has a successful record of achieving favorable results in both civil and criminal matters.

Tyler serves as the Zoning Board and Planning Board Attorney for the City of Central Falls (RI). In this capacity, Tyler attends all Zoning and Planning Board meetings, advises the board on all zoning and planning matters, drafts all zoning decisions based on those meetings, and advises on proposed ordinances. He also serves as the Assistant City Prosecutor for the City of Central Falls, prosecuting all misdemeanor arrests by the city’s police department.

Representative Matters

  • Successfully negotiated a six-figure settlement from a landlord’s insurance company for a tenant that fell down improperly maintained stairs.

  • Successfully negotiated a five-figure settlement for a commercial landlord that resulted in the former tenant paying for failing to properly fulfill the terms of the lease termination.

  • Obtained a five-figure settlement for our client, a defendant in a breach of contract claim made by a former business partner because the plaintiff misrepresented business assets at the time of the partnership’s formation.

  • Obtained a high five-figure child support and child care arrearage, resulting in a combined support and arrearage payment of over $3,000 a month. Client also maintained sole custody and primary placement of the child.

  • Obtained a five-figure lump sum payment for client after former spouse failed to uphold the requirements of the divorce decree.

Prior Experience

Prior to joining DarrowEverett, Tyler was a Rule 9 with the Rhode Island Public Defender’s office, where he regularly represented individuals charged with misdemeanor crimes in Rhode Island District Court. Tyler also clerked for Daniel Griffin at Griffin Law assisting in legal research and drafting related to individuals charged with crimes in both the State and Federal Courts.
